DESCRIPTION OF AFJROTC RIBBONS
AFJROTC GOLD VALOR AWARD - Recognizes the most outstanding voluntary acts of self-sacrifice and personal bravery by a cadet involving conspicuous risk of life above and beyond the call of duty.
AFJROTC SILVER VALOR AWARD - Awarded to a cadet for a voluntary act of heroism which does not meet the risk-of-life requirements of the Gold Valor Award.
CADET HUMANITARIAN AWARD - Recognize cadets who provide aid in response to a singular extraordinary event such as a natural disaster or other catastrophe that has placed or has the potential to place a hardship on their fellow citizens.
SILVER STAR COMMUNITY SERVICE WITH EXCELLENCE AWARD - Awarded to cadets in the Top 5% of units (approximately 45 units) who have the highest "per cadet average" community service hours.
COMMUNITY SERVICE WITH EXCELLENCE AWARD - Awarded to cadets who provide significant leadership in the planning, organizing, directing, and executing of a major unit community service project that greatly benefit the local community.
AIR FORCE ASSOCIATION AWARD - Presented annually to an AFJROTC 3 cadet who displays a positive attitude, outstanding personal appearance, and displays personal attributes as initiative, judgement, and self-confidence.
DAEDALIAN AWARD - Presented annually to an outstanding AFJROTC 3 cadet who demonstrates an understanding of patriotism, love and country, and service to nation. They must indicate the potential and desire to pursue a military career, rank in the to 10 percent of the AFJROTC class, and top 20 percent of their school class.
AMERICAN LEGION SCHOLASTIC AWARD - Presented annually to an AFJROTC 3 or 4 cadet who ranks in the top 10 percent of the high school class, top 25 percent of the AFJROTC class, demonstrates leadership qualities, and actively participates in student activities.
AMERICAN LEGION GENERAL MILITARY EXCELLENCE AWARD - Presented annually to an AFJROTC 3 or 4 cadet who ranks in the top 25 percent of the AFJROTC class and demonstrates outstanding qualities in military leadership, discipline, character, and citizenship.
DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION AWARD - Presented annually to an AFJROTC 3 or 4 cadet who ranks in the top 25 percent of the AFJROTC class, top 25 percent of the high school class, demonstrates qualities of dependability and good character, military discipline and possessed leadership abilities.
AMERICAN VETERANS AWARD - Presented annually to a cadet who exhibits a positive attitude, proper personal appearance, personal attributes, displays officer potential, obtained the grade of "A" in the AFJROTC class and be in good academic standing with the school.
RESERVE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION AWARD - Presented annually to an outstanding AFJROTC 4 cadet who exhibits a positive attitude towards AFJROTC, outstanding personal appearance, initiative, judgement, and self-confidence, and ranks in the top 10 percent of the AFJROTC class.
MILITARY ORDER OF WORLD WARS AWARD - presented annually to an outstanding cadet who has committed to continue the aerospace science program the following school year.
MILITARY OFFICERS ASSOCIATION AWARD - Presented annually to an outstanding AFJROTC 3 cadet who shows exceptional potential for military leadership.
VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS AWARD - Presented annually to an outstanding AFJROTC 3 or 4 cadet who possesses individual characteristics contributing to leadership.
NATIONAL SOJOURNERS AWARD - Presented annually to an outstanding AFJROTC 2 or 3 cadet who ranks in the top 25 percent of the academic class, demonstrates ideals of Americanism, and the potential for outstanding leadership.
SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION AWARD - Presented annually to an outstanding AFJROTC 3 cadet who exhibits a high degree of leadership, military bearing, and all-around excellence in the AFJROTC program.
SCOTTISH RITE AWARD - Awarded annually to an outstanding AFJROTC 4 cadet who contributed to Americanism though co-curricular activities and community service, rank in the top 25 percent of the AFJROTC class and demonstrates qualities of citizenship and patriotism.
MILITARY ORDER OF THE PURPLE HEART -Awarded to an outstanding AFJROTC 3 or 4 cadet who demonstrates a positive attitude towards AFJROTC, holds a leadership position in the cadet corps, is active in school and community affairs, and has a grade of "B" or better in all school classes.
AIR FORCE SERGEANTS ASSOCIATION - Awarded to an outstanding 3rd or 4th year cadet who has demonstrated outstanding qualities in military leadership, discipline, character, and citizenship, and be in the top 25 percent of the AFJROTC class.
SONS OF THE UNION VETERANS OF THE CIVIL WAR AWARD - Awarded for demonstrating a high degree of patriotism and demonstrated a high degree of academic excellence and leadership ability.
SONS OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS H.L. HUNLEY AWARD - Awarded for demonstrating good citizenship and patriotism, leadership, communication skills, physical fitness and a knowledge of basic military skills.
TUSKEGEE AIRMAN AWARD - Awarded for attaining a grade of "B" or better in AFJROTC, good academic standing, participating in cadet corps activities, and participate in 50 percent of all unit service programs.
THE RETIRED ENLISTED ASSOCIATION AWARD - Awarded for exceptional leadership while serving in an enlisted rank throughout the course of the school-year.
CELEBRATE FREEDOM FOUNDATION AWARD - Awarded for demonstrated qualities of academic excellence, leadership, military discipline, dependability, and patriotism.
NATIONAL SOCIETY UNITED STATES DAUGHTERS OF 1812 AWARD - Awarded for demonstrating qualities of academic excellence, leadership, military discipline, dependability, patriotism, and upright character in speech and habits.
AIR COMMANDO ASSOCIATION AWARD - Awarded for exhibiting integrity, self-motivation, intelligence, self-discipline, perseverance, adaptability, maturity, judgement, selflessness, leadership, and physical fitness.
DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS AWARD - Awarded for demonstrated leadership potential and readiness to assume greater responsibilities in the AFJROTC program.
DISTINGUISHED UNIT AWARD WITH MERIT - Awarded to cadets enrolled during the same academic year in which 1) the unit receives a HQ AFJROTC evaluation with an overall rating of Exceeds Standards and 2) the unit is selected by HQ AFJROTC to receive the DUA.
DISTINGUISHED UNIT AWARD - Awarded to cadets enrolled during the academic year when a unit is selected by HQ AFJROTC to receive the DUA.
OUTSTANDING ORGANIZATION AWARD - Awarded to cadets enrolled during the academic year when a unit is selected by HQ AFJROTC to receive the OOA.
OUTSTANDING FLIGHT RIBBON - Awarded for being a member of the outstanding flight (class) of the quarter.
TOP PERFORMER AWARD - The Cadet Top Performer Award is a Headquarters, AFJROTC award presented to a maximum of 2% of the current unit cadet corps population. It may only be awarded during a formal Staff Assistance Visit or Unit Evaluation conducted by HQ AFJROTC personnel.
OUTSTANDING CADET RIBBON - Awarded for being the top AFJROTC 1, 2, 3, or 4 cadet for the school-year.
LEADERSHIP RIBBON - Awarded at the SASI’s discretion for outstanding performance in a position of leadership as an AFJROTC cadet in corps training activities.
ACHIEVEMENT RIBBON - Awarded for a significant achievement as deemed appropriate by the SASI. Individuals may not receive more than one ribbon during a 1-year period.
SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE RIBBON - Awarded to cadets for outstanding achievement or meritorious service rendered specifically on behalf of AFJROTC.
ACADEMIC RIBBON - Awarded quarterly for having an "A" in AFJROTC, and no less than a "B" in any other school courses.
LEADERSHIP SCHOOL RIBBON - Awarded for graduating from an approved summer leadership program.
SPECIAL TEAMS COMPETITION RIBBON - Awarded to team members for placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd in an Air Force or Joint Service Competition to include Color Guard Teams, Rifle Teams, Drill Teams, Saber Teams, Academic Bowl Teams, and CyberPatriot.
ORIENTEERING RIBBON - Awarded for placing in the top-three of an orienteering meet.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES LEADERSHIP RIBBON - Awarded for leading a major AFJROTC project.
DRILL TEAM RIBBON - Awarded for attending 75 percent of all drill team practices and meets for a school-year.
COLOR GUARD RIBBON - For participating in a minimum of 75 percent of color guard competitions on the drill team, or a minimum of 10 color guard for the school-year.
GOOD CONDUCT RIBBON - Awarded quarterly for not having any disciplinary actions (detentions, AIM, or suspensions).
SERVICE RIBBON - For completion of 15, or more, hours of approved community service.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS RIBBON - Awarded for scoring in the 40 percentile, or better, on the President's Physical Fitness Challenge.
RECRUITING RIBBON - Awarded for recruiting at least one member into the AFJROTC program.
ACTIVITIES RIBBON - Awarded for participation on teams other than drill or orienteering.
ATTENDANCE RIBBON - Awarded for perfect attendance for at least one quarter of the school-year.
DRESS AND APPEARANCE RIBBON - Awarded for not missing any uniform days (blues and physical training) for a semester of the school-year.
LONGEVITY RIBBON - Awarded for successfully completing one year of the AFJROTC program.
DESCRIPTION OF AFJROTC BADGES
DISTINGUISHED AFJROTC CADET BADGE - Awarded to the top AFJROTC 3 cadet for the entire school-year.
KITTY HAWK AIR SOCIETY BADGE - Awarded to cadets who are members of the Kitty Hawk Air Society.
AWARENESS PRESENTATION TEAM BADGE - Awarded for participation on an Awareness Presentation Team.
AEROSPACE EDUCATION FOUNDATION ACADEMIC CADET BADGE - Awarded to rising Junior and Senior cadets for academic excellence as signified by attaining an overall 3.3 grade point average with no grade below “C” on their transcript.
MODEL ROCKETRY BADGE - Awarded to cadets who have fulfilled model rocketry program requirements.
CYBER PATRIOT BADGE - Awarded to those cadets who are members of the Cyber Patriot Team.
