Welcome to the Walter E. Stebbins High School AFJROTC information page. AFJROTC has been at Stebbins High School since 1967, making it one of the oldest continuous AFJROTC programs in Ohio.
The AFJROTC program was established by Public Law 88-647 (also known as the Reserve Officer Training Corps Vitalization Act of 1964) and can be found in Title 10, U.S. Code, Chapter 102. Instructors are retired Air Force officers and enlisted personnel. The AFJROTC curriculum (explained in more detail on the curriculum page) emphasizes citizenship and leadership development.

All students in AFJROTC (known as cadets) are instilled with many values in the program:
THE MISSION, GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE OH-022 AFJROTC PROGRAM:
The mission of the AFJROTC program is to develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community.
The goals of the program are to instill values of citizenship, give service to the United States, develop a personal responsibility, and instill a sense of accomplishment in high school students.
The objectives of AFJROTC are to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship; promote community service; instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline; and provide instruction in air and space fundamentals.
AFJROTC CORE VALUES:
Our Core Values are the foundation upon which we have built a top quality AFJROTC program. Core Values are a fundamental set of guidelines that can serve students throughout his or her life.
1. Integrity First: Integrity means devoted to honesty, truthfulness, doing one's duty and doing what is right. This means that your word can always be counted upon and that you can be trusted to accomplish your job.
2. Service Before Self: Service is the giving of self to provide for the welfare of others. Personal desires are not considered in the concept of service.
3. Excellence in All We Do: Excellence means doing the very best you can in each job your perform, regardless of how large or small, difficult or easy.
CADET HONOR CODE:
"I will not lie, cheat or steal, nor will I tolerate those who do."
We Are Not Recruiters!
One of the biggest misconceptions about AFJROTC is that we're here to recruit students into military service. Actually, nothing could be further from the truth. We're not recruiters, and are not paid to be recruiters. We are teachers of a high school elective credit course called Aerospace Science. In fact, less than two percent of our student cadets join the military.
Class Schedule
Lt Col Yunt teaches Aerospace Education and Management of the Corps (AS-400) on Mondays and Tuesdays, and MSgt Hood teaches Leadership Education and drill on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Fridays are physical training and Lt Col Yunt and MSgt Hood alternate on these days.
